Math Games Improve Math Benchmarks

Third graders analyze their own math and reading benchmarks during the school year.

They are required to identify their strength and weaknesses in both subjects. If a student scores a high score on a certain benchmark, they are considered an expert.

Other students know to go to that person if they need help with that math concept.

Different grade classes team up and teach each other the math concepts. During the year, some of the third graders will team up with the kindergarteners and play math games that the students created. The math game focuses on a low math benchmark and must be understand by third graders and kindergarteners. One game, Math Craft, used the online game of Mine Craft but added math concepts into the fun.
