Emre Akbaba, M.Ed., has been a STEM educator since 2004 and currently serves as Executive Director of Discovery Academy of Science (DAS). Since joining DAS in 2013, he has led the school to earn consistent “A” ratings from the Florida Department of Education, recognition as a Florida High-Performing Charter School, and the designation of School of Excellence.
With more than two decades of experience in education, Mr. Akbaba has successfully led multiple charter schools across Florida, focusing on academic excellence, STEM innovation, and strong community partnerships. He holds master’s degrees in Educational Leadership and Physics Education, Bachelor’s degree in Physics and is certified in Middle Grades Science and High School Physics. His leadership blends instructional vision, operational expertise, and a commitment to creating high-quality learning environments for all students.
