Discovery Academy of Science Flight Club welcomed its first group of parents and students for a hands-on indoor
aviation workshop on Saturday morning. With the guidance of Coach Mr. Akbaba, each parent-student team built an
indoor rubber-powered model airplane and worked through the full process step by step.
Teams began at 9:00 AM and had the opportunity to complete their airplanes by about 11:30 AM. These sessions
introduce students to the basics of indoor flight while connecting patience, design, physics, and the science behind how
airplanes fly. The models are delicate, but the experience is highly rewarding for families who enjoy building and
learning together.
