Many of our teachers have attended national conferences focusing on reading, science, math, and specific teaching methodologies. Multiple professional days are scheduled in advance each school year.

Discovery Academy of Science offers competitive salaries starting from $52,150(annual) to newly hired and experienced teachers. Many of our teachers have additional opportunities to earn supplemental income during the school year and summer months. DAS evaluates the prior experience of teachers. Additional salary increases are available based on the experience evaluation.

In addition to competitive wages, DAS offers competitive health, secondary supplemental health insurance at no cost, and optional retirement packages. Qualifying family members are also eligible for certain benefit packages.

"This is my second year working at Discovery Academy of Science. I teach 1st grade and love our school. Our students are excited about science and eager to learn and explore. Unlike most schools, we have an hour block each day specifically for science. We are also lucky to have great technology at our fingertips. Each classroom has a smart board and classroom computers. Discovery Academy of Science recognizes this honor and recruits teachers from the University of South Florida, Florida State University, University of Central Florida. Our current faculty is staffed with graduates from most major universities in the state. Graduates from these school often enter successfully into our school and have the credentials to teach in the state of Florida.
