ELEVATE-DAS Flight Club
Build. Fly. Learn Together.
ELEVATE-DAS Flight Club gives students and families a hands-on introduction to aviation, engineering, and physics through the design and construction of indoor model aircraft.
Parent-student teams work together to build lightweight rubber-powered airplanes while learning how design, patience, balance, and aerodynamics affect flight. The program combines STEM learning with a unique family experience.

From Parts to Flight
Hands-On Learning in Action
During build sessions, teams work step by step to construct an indoor rubber-powered model airplane. Students learn how small design choices can affect performance and why careful construction matters.
Once complete, builders can test their aircraft, make adjustments, and see the science behind flight in action. The first session ran from 9:00 AM to noon, with many teams finishing their aircraft by about 11:30 AM.
How to Join
Interested in Flight Club?
Future sessions are open to DAS families, with materials fees covering the cost of the aircraft students build and keep. The current program is open to students in grades K–8 at participating DAS campuses.
Families interested in participating should complete the Flight Club interest form for upcoming session information.
Parent Volunteers
Help Flight Club Take Off
Flight Club also welcomes approved parent volunteers who can assist students and families during build sessions.
The current program is specifically seeking Level 2-cleared parent volunteers.
