Uniforms
Simple Standards. Ready to Learn.
All DAS students are expected to wear the full school uniform each day. Uniforms should be neat, clean, modest, and appropriate for a safe and focused learning environment.
The goal of the uniform policy is to create consistency, reduce distractions, and help students arrive ready for the school day. School administration has final discretion when determining whether clothing or accessories meet uniform expectations.
Uniform Basics
Shirts
Solid red or navy tops with the official DAS patch.
Bottoms
Khaki or navy pants, shorts, skirts, or skorts that meet dress-code requirements.
Shoes
Closed-toe dress or athletic shoes that are securely fastened.
School Patch
Official DAS patches are available through the school office.
Uniform Guidelines
General Appearance
Students should remain in full uniform throughout the school day. Shirts should remain tucked in, collars should remain down, and clothing should not be tied around the waist.
Uniforms must remain neat and properly worn during dismissal and after-school activities unless an approved activity requires different clothing.
Tops
Approved tops must be solid red or navy and display the official DAS patch. Options include short- or long-sleeve polos, approved sweaters or fleece, and other uniform items identified in the dress code.
Undershirts and layered clothing must meet school color and appearance requirements.
Bottoms
Khaki or navy uniform bottoms are required. Approved options vary by style and include pants, shorts, skirts, and skorts.
Bottoms must fit appropriately, remain properly worn at the waist, and meet the length and appearance requirements described in the Student & Parent Handbook.
Shoes
Students must wear closed-toe dress shoes or athletic shoes.
Flip-flops, slippers, Crocs, open-toe or open-heel shoes, and roller shoes are not permitted.

Flexible Options for Families
Uniform clothing may be purchased from any retailer as long as it meets DAS uniform requirements.
Families may also purchase approved uniform items through Shaheen’s Uniforms, which currently provides DAS-specific uniform options.
Official DAS patches are available through the school office.
