End of Year Testing Highlights

In an exciting new era of educational progress, Discovery Academy of Science (DAS) has proven to be a remarkable educational institution with exceptional performance in end-of-year testing. Our stellar results, which consistently outranked our district and state are a testament to the dedication, diligence, and passion of our teachers, students, and the whole DAS community.

Mathematics: Mastering the Language of the Universe

In Math, DAS's proficiency was impressively displayed across all grade levels. In the third and fifth grades, DAS students achieved 85% proficiency, a score notably higher than both Pinellas's (62% and 61%, respectively) and Florida's (59% and 55%, respectively).

The fourth graders took a leap forward, registering a whopping 95% proficiency, topping the district and standing 18th in the entire state of Florida. Their score significantly surpassed Pinellas's 66% and Florida's 61% average.

As for the sixth graders, their 84% proficiency landed them at the 4th spot in the district, while seventh graders outdid the district's average by more than double with a staggering 89% proficiency. The eighth graders were a force to be reckoned with, securing 98% proficiency, the 1st in the district, and tied for the 2nd highest score in the entire state.

In the high school Math categories, DAS demonstrated unmatched excellence. Both Algebra and Geometry students hit a perfect 100% proficiency, the highest in both the district and state.

English Language Arts: Crafting Success Through Words

English Language Arts (ELA) wasn't left behind in our academic victories. The proficiency of our students was consistently higher than both district and state averages.

Third graders were tied for 6th in the district with a solid 75% proficiency, comfortably above Pinellas's 53% and the state's 50%. Fourth graders achieved an outstanding 81% proficiency, landing them the 5th position in the district rankings.

DAS's sixth, seventh, and eighth graders scored impressively, securing the 2nd place in the district with 79%, 77%, and 81% proficiency, respectively.

End-of-Course Results: Finishing Strong

Our End-of-Course (EOC) results were just as brilliant. In Biology, DAS proudly boasted a perfect 100% proficiency, clinching the 1st spot in the district and tying for 1st in the state. Civics was not far behind with an impressive 96% proficiency, tied for 1st in the district.

The exceptional end-of-year test scores at Discovery Academy of Science are a clear indication of the quality of education being offered. We have seen students exceed expectations and, in some cases, set new records. It is an affirmation of DAS's commitment to nurturing talents, building an intellectually stimulating environment, and, above all, preparing students for a successful future.
